MS Wil History
MS Wil was founded in 1978 by Peter Weibel in Wil, Switzerland. After Peter completed his PhD at the University of Zürich he worked for Varian International as a product specialist for mass spectrometry, for 5 years. In 1978 he decided that it was time to become a distributor for Mass Spectrometry products and became a supplier for Scientific Instrument Services (now Adaptas). Over the years he expanded the lines of represented products and when nanoflow LC became more and more important he became the first distributor for New Objective in Europe (anno 2003).
Peter, later with his wife Anne-Marie have owned MS Wil until they retired in 2012. By then Jörg Niebel had joined the team and continued the business. As Jörg lived in Zürich, he decided to move the company to Zürich. Everything went well until cancer caught up with Jörg in Summer 2016. He continued the company despite his illness, but throughout 2018 it became clear this could not be continued.
At the end of 2018 it was therefore decided that the company would move again, and this time to the Netherlands, where Erik and Marie-Louise started running MS Wil from January 1st, 2019.
Too soon, Jörg passed away on May 30, 2019. In his memory MS Wil continues.
